Funded by KDF - Canada at the cost of 6 Million Rupees.
KARAVEDDY DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION formed in year 2005 by a group of people born and bred in Karaveddy with the objective to develop the war- torn Village .
1) Obtained land to build the Divisional Hospital on a 99 year lease, and constructed a well and a tank to supply water to the hospital at the cost of Rs 214,418
2) Eye testing and provision of spectacles to 149 poor school students at the cost of Rs 307,933
3) Erected barbed wire around the “Athulu Tank” at the cost of Rs 737,841 and constructed a bund surrounding the tank to preserve rain water which was funded by government.
4) Purchased and supplied essential pharmaceuticals to the displaced people worth of Rs 50,000.
5) Built shed and platform in “Sonappu Cemetry” enabling cremation to be easier in rain and hot weather. Rs 474,470
6) Provided the initial basic needs requested by SL- Water Board to extend the water supply to 600 households by funding, purchase a piece of land (cost Rs106,800) -built a well (Rs 75,000) and yield tested for NECORD (Rs 155,000).
